Juniors Team - Head Coach/Director of Summer Clinics
Sam Moy joined the Hurricanes in the early 80’s under its original Wing Wor origin. A highly respected player in both Asian volleyball and Asian basketball circuits. Sam has represented the Canes as player or coach thru the early 2000’S. In 2005, Elected to the North American Chinese Basketball Association’s Top 25 Players of All Time.
Recently Sam has been coaching basketball for Belmont Youth Basketball Association, the Canes Youth program and JR Celtics at Yang YMCA.
MAY WOO MOK
Head of Basketball Logistics
May Woo Mok has been the head of basketball logistics for the Hurricanes junior basketball program for the past two years. Her solid background in day-to-day operations, strategic planning, and team leadership allow her to manage the basketball program, communication, and event planning.
In May’s younger days, she played in high school and college on Asian basketball and volleyball teams. She introduced her two boys to both sports eight years ago, and have participated in the Hurricanes ever since. They now play on the 9 Man junior volleyball and basketball teams.
Cindy Ho is the Outreach Coordinator for the Boston Hurricanes Youth Basketball Program. She is the mother of two boys, one who is an avid basketball player, the other an avid hockey player. She hopes to leverage her past experiences, business and personal, in conjunction with her commitment to the Asian community to bring the Hurricanes Youth Basketball Program to the next level.
Coach Steve first turned to coaching in 1996 as an assistant with the Hurricanes youth team that participated competitively in the Boston Neighborhood Basketball League (BNBL) and the Chinese Nationals. Steve has coached both boys and girls middle school teams in the Boston Public Schools. During his tenure, his student-athletes have gone on to play competitively in their respective Boston Public High School basketball programs. He has also spent some time as a middle school assistant AAU and town basketball head coach.
He is currently a middle school teacher in Boston.
Roger Chow joined the Charlestown High School varsity basketball team as a freshman and was the starting point guard for 4 years during the late '80s and early '90s. Further developed his coaching and scouting skills at Point Guard College. He coached the Hurricanes' Juniors 18 and Under team for five years and including their successful bid to become division champs at
the 2018 North American Chinese Basketball Association's annual tournament.
Ron Chin has been a Wing Wor/Boston Hurricane player and coach since the 80s for both the volleyball and basketball programs. He was the assistant Coach for the 2018 National Champions Boys U18 Basketball Team and continues to be involved as a mentor and coach in the basketball program. He currently works at the U.S. Bank in Boston and lives in Framingham, MA.
